Ooh La La… Welcome to the Blog!
Madeleine’s Musings Volume I
Well, hello there! I am so happy you found me! If you’re here reading this that means you’re family, a friend, or follower & I’m so thankful you’re here! Alternatively, you’ve been stalking my Instagram, & honestly same. Anyways: why am I doing this? Why are you reading this? Well, like most things nowadays it has to do with TikTok. My dear friend, Mimi, sent me something the other day that boiled down to:
you can’t be afraid to be seen.
Okay, Mimi: maybe don’t send that to me at 7 AM? Sarcasm aside: the message is important. If you’re afraid to be seen, you miss an opportunity to connect with people. Equally important: you miss an opportunity to be heard. I think I get especially afraid of what people might think or say. I think of anyone who has ever said something nasty about me behind my back or to my face (let’s be real, whatever is said behind people’s backs they usually hear anyway).
I just want to say to those people: Okay! Say whatever nasty, mean thing you want to say about this blog, or my fashion, or my hobbies, or me for that matter!
So what?
If the worst you can say is that my hobbies are lame & I’m a little weird, that’s fine by me! I think you’re the weirdo for caring so much about what I do, but that’s besides the point.
Actually, most of my friends are people who are different than I am. Sure we’ll bond over a shared interest: needlepoint, motorsport, Taylor Swift, baking, etc. But my friends are all different from me & I couldn’t be more thankful. The key ingredient is that we don’t judge one another for our different interests, quirks, fashion, & callings. In fact, we celebrate them!
It is when you let go of the fear of judgement that you can be seen: in friendship & online.
Sappy, I know, but I love a cliché. I don’t want to ramble on too much for this first post but here we are! If you’re reading this: thank you! I appreciate you a lot. A lot a lot.
Until next time! Love ya, mean it!
xo, Madeleine
